FELIX ZIGA, AIA

Principal

Felix is a Registered Architect in the State of Texas and has over 16 years of professional experience working in the design and construction industry for projects in San Antonio, Austin, the South Texas Region, nationwide, and most recently across international borders. He received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a minor in Business Administration in 2010 and a Master of Architecture Degree plus a Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation in 2012, all from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Traveling is one of his passions and greatest source of architectural and place making inspiration, along with going on new adventures with his family.

Most recently, Felix has focused on building Ziga Architecture Studio’s business sectors, concentrating on high-end custom residential projects, tenant improvement, historic preservation, and urban-infill and remodel projects near the urban core.  As the firm has built a solid portfolio, since its inception in late 2014, Felix has now set his sights on expanding the firm’s business sectors and venturing into multi-family, larger scale commercial, and institutional and public projects.

Felix’s past experience is quite diverse and balanced including dozens of high-end residential projects in the San Antonio and Austin areas for DeWitt Architects, the City of Laredo Downtown Master Plan with Kell-Munoz Architects, both private and government projects with DHR Architects, Inc., and hundreds of retail spaces for Visionworks, Inc. and Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. nationwide.

Felix is passionate about the impact architecture has on communities, and is most proud of several iconic projects he has been a contributor on, including Fenwick Elementary Alterations and New Construction as part of the SAISD 2010 Bond, San Antonio College Scobee Planeterium Renovations and Addition, and The Phipps Building, where the popular ‘Paramour’ rooftop bar/lounge is located.

In the spirit of giving back, Mr. Ziga has served on the City of San Antonio Building Standards Board as the At Large Mayoral Appointee, the Citizen Planning Institute for the City of San Antonio SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan as a City Council District 1 Appointee, and as a volunteer contractor for S.T.A.R., a partnership between the City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation, UTSA College of Architecture, Construction and Planning, and local volunteer contractors.
